|Three days of a two-year teaching seminar for top leaders of Rissho Kosei-kai Dharma centers in the United States were held October 14-16 at the Los Angeles Dharma Center. Eleven Japanese-speaking members participated from the four Dharma centers in Hawaii, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York.
The two-year seminar trains instructors for "Members' Education I" and is organized by Rissho Kosei-kai International North America (RKINA). The leaders participating October 14-16 were in the second year of the seminar and some educational programs were designed specifically for them.
Each participant had to present sample lectures and worked hard on them in advance. They divided into three groups and presented their lectures as if in front of a class.
After each session, they shared their impressions or feelings about what they had achieved together with their lecturers. Typical comments included: "The feedback we received was very helpful and useful reference for lecturing techniques" and "I'd like to improve my lecturing technique with better connection of key points."
On the final day, October 16, Rev. Takayuki Yoshizawa, director of the Rissho Kosei-kai North American Division, presented a Instructors Seminar Certificate to each participant. All the participants are counted on practicing their best efforts more diligently so that this "Members' Education I", Instructors' Training Course, could be a great help to promote Dharma dissemination furthermore all over the United States.
