Members Across Borders Support Flood Relief in Nepal
On October 8, 2026, Rissho Kosei-kai of Bangkok presented US$6,500 to the Kathmandu office of the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation to support those affected by the severe flooding that struck Nepal in August.
The two-week fundraising effort brought together members from the United States, the Sri Lanka Dharma Center, the Kolkata and Delhi branches in India, Japan, and Thailand. Their generosity was a shared expression of compassion reaching across national borders.
Tzu Chi, a Buddhist organization based in Taiwan, has been helping to restore hospitals and schools and distributing vouchers for essential supplies in Nepal. It is also planning housing support for people who lost their homes.
A representative of the Kathmandu office of Tzu Chi expressed gratitude, noting that the contribution had encouraged their relief efforts. Along with their donations, Rissho Kosei-kai members offer heartfelt prayers for the affected communities as they rebuild their lives.
