Philippine Goodwill Mission Visits Rissho Kosei-kai Members in Japan

October 2016

A 23-member goodwill mission from the Bataan Christian Youth Civic Circle (BCYCC), a faith-based NGO in the Philippine province of Bataan, visited Japan October 4-9.

They visited Rissho Kosei-kai headquarters in Tokyo on October 4 to attend a commemoration in the Great Sacred Hall of the 17th anniversary of Founder Nikkyo Niwano's decease and entrance into nirvana. Afterward they met President Nichiko Niwano in the lobby of the Horin-kaku Guest Hall, and the BCYCC president, Mr. Jose Tuazon, greeted President Niwano on their behalf.

During October 5-7 the mission members stayed in Rissho Kosei-kai members' homes in the organization's Kanagawa dissemination district. They also attended the 40th annual Seitanchi Festival (Birthplace Festival) October 8-9 in the city of Tokamachi, Niigata Prefecture, honoring the founder of Rissho Kosei-kai where he was born in 1906. They also visited the Suganuma area of Tokamachi, where the founder was born and grew up.
